Conventional inner rim yo-yos had a stainless steel rim embedded inside the rim, which, while strong, tended to limit spin power. The Anomaly, however, achieved both strength and spin power by extending the stainless steel rim all the way to the outermost rim. This innovative inner rim mechanism spread as the "optimal solution," primarily for 3A models, and influenced the design concepts of other brands. Naturally, this inner rim mechanism is still used in Yoyorecreation's various 3A models.
